Hi, I'm Jan. Welcome to my blog.

I write about artifcial intelligence, software engineering, philosophy, technology, game theory, and whatever else catches my interest. This blog is my way of thinking through ideas in public and sharing things I've learned, especially as I'm now transitioning to AI safety research.

Experience

I worked on the following things in the past:

• Safely automating a KYC system at Meta using classifiers, evaluating them, launching them safely, convincing other teams of the quality, etc
• Worked on various ML product APIs from design all the way through the stack to the inference engine at DeepL
• Ideated, built various MVPs, did a lot of customer development at EF and ultimately secured funding there
• Worked on software for high energy physics, including tracking in particle detectors at university and at CERN
