Study log 2

Summary of the days

Had a family emergency, so I had to travel, be there for my family and could not study as much as I wanted to.

Nevertheless, I managed to complete exercises 34-70 of the 100 Numpy exercises. It took me longer than I thought, but I learned a lot and think I know enough numpy for now and understand the way you need to think about this library (though of course I lack some low-level mastery regarding minimizing copies etc). I assume LLMs are pretty good at oneshotting this kind of code now as well. I definitely felt the exercises diminishing in usefulness from around 50 onwards and decided not to do all 100 for now. If I realize I need that level of master, or want to practice later, I can still go back. I uploaded my solutions and some more in-depth comments on GitHub.

I’m preparing to start the ARENA curriculum now, so I will continue with the pytorch intro. I’ve trained models with Pytorch before, but similar to NumPy want to put my knowledge on more stable foundations. I expect to already know most of the basics.
